A safe, free place to build something real.
VivaHacks is a two-day, daytime event where high school students learn to build AI tools for health, with mentors and adult supervision the whole time.
- Supervised all day
- Background-checked adults are on site at all times, about one for every 15 students, with a named safety lead. Students sign in and out, and nobody leaves early without written permission.
- Home every night
- No overnight stay. Doors close in the evening on day one and open again the next morning.
- Free, with meals
- There’s no cost to attend. Meals and snacks are provided, with options for dietary needs.
- Clear rules
- Everyone follows our code of conduct, projects use public or synthetic data only, and there’s a quiet room for anyone who needs a break.
- Forms before the event
- Consent, liability waiver, photo release, emergency contacts and permission to use AI tools, all signed after acceptance.
- Something to show for it
- Students leave with new skills, a real project for their portfolio, and mentors who know their work.
Teachers and clubs: bring your students
- Share VivaHacks with your science, health and computer science clubs. Every track fits a different club.
- Bring a group, and we’ll help students from the same school team up.
- Teachers and school staff are welcome as mentors and judges.
